Tone-deaf songs from Konami become an unfair match against titles like Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

Rock Revolution is nothing but a bad copy compared to Guitar Hero and Rock Band. One would think that when taking on big titles like these, they would do it properly. The first thing you notice is that the songs aren’t played by the original artists. The song selection is quite good, but that doesn’t help when the sound reminds you of something produced by an old tape recorder with bust speakers. When it comes to the playing itself, the notes don’t scroll across the screen like we’ve become used to. Instead they’ve decided to let the notes drop from above, like acid rain on a grey autumn day. This means the notes stay on the screen for a shorter time, which gives you less time to prepare the riffs on the guitar. The game is more exhausting than it is fun. The only thing that is slightly more positive is that you can actually use whatever equipment you want, no matter whether it comes from Guitar Hero or Rock Band.

Child suitability:
Rock Revolution unfortunately does not live up to its expectations, and becomes more bother than fun. In the multi-player mode up to three people can play together (guitar, base and drums). If you want to try the career mode you have to do so all on your own, which also contributes to the negative aspects. The game has a T (Teen) rating because of some bad language and sexual references.
